If your students are anything like mine, listening to classical music can be a challenge, nevermind listening to the whole song. However, I’ve noticed something funny about my kiddos. They have no issue playing an 8-minute chase game on YouTube. . . Unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot of “older” music in chase videos- I’ve checked. So I’ve created one using the classical piece “Mars” from the “Planets” suite composed by Holst. Introducing the “MARS Music Room Run”!
Learn about music theory while listening and running through space! Here’s the kicker: you will get to listen to the whole thing! Now bear with me, I’m still honing my tech skills, but without further ado . . .
Play mini-games to learn music theory concepts and other classical music facts. For example- what instrument did Holst play? How many beats is a half note? Can you find Mars?
