Easy Valentine’s Day Activities for Early Years Music

Posted on 01/30/202501/28/2025 by Mrs. V

Valentine’s Day lands in a month with so much else going on. February is Kindness month, I Love to Read month, Black History month, and so much more. Lessons for the month are pretty intense and require prep. However, here are a few easy Valentine’s Day activities to make your prep easier! Scarf Throw Pick a song to listen to and throw scarves in the air anytime you hear the word “Love”. Dance while you’re waiting to hear that word! This activity is easy prep and super engaging for littles. Adults also enjoy this activity. Some songs to listen to: You can pick any word or any song, but these are some of our favorites! Centers Activities Centers are also a super fun way to incorporate content with themed activities. Here are two easy print and go activities that can also live in your sub tub. Color by Note Color-by-Note pages are super popular and reinforce understanding and association of content. After they are done coloring, have your students compose a rhythm. Perform them for a partner or combine to make a short song! Grab a free one here! Valentine’s Day Rhythm Builders Use the candy hearts to compose rhythms and then perform! Use individually or in partners. This set includes quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests. Expansion packs will be available with dotted notes, sixteenth notes, and more! Click here to see more. Note Naming Hearts Print the hearts, cut, and match! Use individually or with a partner and compose a short song! Available with bass cleff treble clef and ledger lines! Click here to get your own. Group Song: Will You be My Valentine? My students LOVE this game, especially with a parachute! I will leave a YouTube from Katie Traxler below. Enjoy!
